«JAGIELLONIAN IDEA» IN POLISH AND UKRAINIAN HISTORIOGRAPHY

Abstract

«Jagiellonian idea» («Jagiellonian myth») occupies a prominent place in ukrainian and polish historiography. The idea also didn’t lose its significance in political discourse. As the time goes further – the more manifestations of this concept can be observed in the activities of certain political forces in the appropriate historical periods of time. Sometimes the «Jagiellonian idea» is taken and interpreted inconstantly by various political forces, scientific schools of historiography. We made the attempt to research the key narratives in polish and ukrainian historiography related to «Jagiellonian idea».
