SEMANTIC AND PRAGMATIC PARAMETERS OF THE STUDY OF EVALUATION

Abstract

The paper is aimed at studying the semantic and pragmatic properties of the evaluation category. A communicative approach to the study of evaluative phenomena that exist in reality and are reflected in the language is proposed. The significance of the evaluation in the linguistic categorization of the world view is determined by the fact that, of the entire totality of the psychiatric acts that are arbitrarily and involuntarily carried out by man, a significant part falls to the proportion of the evaluative ones. It is emphasized that the cognitive process of evaluation, which is included in the general program of human activity, is decision-making and determines the choice of practical actions. Human activity is a pragmatic concept, because it is efficient only when it is aimed at those phenomena and properties from which something useful and valuable can be obtained. Pragmatism of speech evaluative activity is determined by the pragmatic orientation of this kind of activity, namely: affecting the recipient's value orientation, it affects his activity. The possibility of verbal communication is always realized in a specific situation, in a specific context that is an internal characteristic of communication. The communicative aspect of the language means the presence of a single structure of language units, held together by a connection of content and formal aspects. It is proved that the semantic-pragmatic potential of evaluation is inexhaustible, that it exists in a variety of real forms of evaluation, and its latent forms are limitless.
