SEMANTIC DIFFERENTIATION OF PREPOSITIONAL CONSTRUCTIONS IN SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL SUBSTYLE: ADVERBIAL RELATIONS

Abstract
The purpose of the proposed research is the differentiation of prepositions with adverbial semantics in scientific and technical texts of the Ukrainian language. The deictic meaning of prepositional units is examined, a semantic classification of prepositions, which in a hierarchical sequence illustrates the semantic content of each unit, is proposed, specific features of prepositional constructions with adverbial semantics representing scientific and technical substyle of the Ukrainian language are analysed. 7 main archisemes (group semes), which to a greater or lesser extent are used in the analyzed text corpus, are allocated. The most active are the prepositional construction with cause and effect meaning and temporality, less actively used in scientific and technical texts are locative semes, semes of condition and measure. The analysis presents a semantic branching of this class of words, which allows us to differentiate semantic features and possible semantic changes of prepositions. In perspective is specificity of object and attribute relations in the scientific style.
