SEMANTIC-ETYMOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CATEGORY “HEALTH”

Abstract

The article deals with a thorough semanticetymological analysis of the category “health”. Based on the most significant features of the organization of training future professionals to saving and strengthening own health in everyday and professional activities the essence of the student’s age in the periodization of human ontogenesis is analyzed. It is determined, that students’ organism during this period undergoes intense morphofunctional and psychophysiological transformations associated with puberty. The educational role of higher educational establishments in the process of saving and strengthening future specialists’ health is analyzed. The absence of unified scientific interpretation of the notion “health” is certified. The detailed theoretical analysis of determination the category “health” gave the opportunity to make conclusion that in the encyclopedic literature it is noted on the static of this phenomenon (here health is seen as something given, that is, either there is or is not), whereas doctors, biologists, teachers, psychologists emphasize the dynamism of the phenomenon of “health”. It is summarized, that to the notion “health” proper complex, multicomponent character and invariant structure.
