Semiotics and drama translation criticism: points of contact and influence

Abstract
The article discusses the role and influence of semiotics on the formation of theoretical principles of drama translation criticism as a new academic discipline and research area. The major task is to apply semiotic approach to distinguish drama translation criticism and theater translation criticism. The paper outlines the prospects of applying semiotic principles to constructing lingual and sociocultural model of drama translation criticism.
