Simplification Of A Link Performance Prediction Method Based On Mutual Information
Journal Title: Acta Technica Napocensis- Electronica-Telecomunicatii (Electronics and Telecommunications) - Year 2012, Vol 53, Issue 3
Abstract
In this paper, we propose a method to predict the block error rate performance of the wireless links in OFDM communication systems. Our approach relies on a performance prediction methodology that uses the mean mutual information per coded bit as quality measure. We make a simplification within this methodology such that, contrary to existing approaches, our method needs the generation and storage of much less reference performance curves. Simulation results obtained for both additive white Gaussian noise and multipath fading channels demonstrate the very good prediction capability of the proposed method.

Relevant Context Discovery for Pervasive Services Involving User Control
Dynamic context adaptation is a central concept in Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing. In this paper we have analyzed the problem of context relevance and we have chosen an approach where the user is also involved also i...
A Study of the Permutation Schemes Used in the Mobile WIMAX
With the goal of decreasing the interference at sub-carrier level, the allocation of sub-carrier frequencies in an OFDMA based system is selective. This selective allocation can be seen like a permutation of a frequency...
Predicting Churn In Mobile Telecommunications Industry
In today’s competitive market, the customer retention represents one of the focal concern for telecommunications companies. The telecommunications sector can be considered on the top of the list with an annual churn rat...
LabVIEW FPGA Based Noise Canceling Using the LMS Adaptive Algorithm
This paper proposes an architecture for implementing the Least Mean Square (LMS) adaptive algorithm, using a 20 bit fixed-point arithmetic representation. The architecture length was established to 16, but it can be easi...
