SINGLE-PHASE LINE START PERMANENT MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR WITH SKEWED STATOR
Journal Title: Power Electronics and Drives - Year 2016, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
Background: The article deals with single-phase line start permanent magnet synchronous motor with skewed stator. Material and methods: Constructions of two physical motor models are presented. Field-circuit motor models were applied in Maxwell software. After software calculations two physical motor models were built: with skewed and unskewed stator. Results of the motors running properties are analysed. Results: Laboratory investigation shows that single-phase line start permanent magnet synchronous motor with skewed stator has noteworthy less torque ripple and vibration but simultaneously a little bit lower efficiency. Conclusions: Application of skewed stator in single-phase line start permanent magnet synchronous motor causes: - a little bit lower back EMF, - a little bit lower efficiency, - less torque ripple, - less motor vibration.
