Abstract
The article depicts emergence and development of modern poetry in Bahrain. The factors updating content and form of poetry on the example of the Bahraini poets are reviewed; the main attention is paid to the importance of the Modern Arabic poetry created in the middle of the 20th century for emergence of New Poetry Movement in Bahrain.
