СМЕРТЬ ВРАЧА В ПОВЕСТИ А.П. ЧЕХОВА «ПАЛАТА № 6»

Abstract
This article discusses the main characters’ dialogic debates in the short story Ward No. 6 written by Anton Chekhov. Because this theme is already deeply explored in many studies, we will throw new light on it using poetic analyses of motives that seem to be of key importance. Questions that are put forward in the story concern liberty, madness, case and court, and they are also discussed by A. Pushkin, I. Turgenev, L. Tolstoy. The author wonder what Chekhov’s point of view is on the problems. The need for dialogues in the writer’s story can be interpreted as a form of self-consciousness. All that the writer shows as a direct hero’s or narrator’s words is manifested at the level of the discourse of subject in the text. This is parsed in parallel with the semantic-thematic aspect.
