Snake Robot Locomotion Patterns for Straight and Curved Pipe
Journal Title: Strojnicky casopis - Journal of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2018, Vol 68, Issue 2
Abstract
In the paper the locomotion of snake robot is introduced considering locomotion in straight and curved pipe. For the straight pipe locomotion was designed traveling wave locomotion pattern with sine-like wave which expands from rear of the robot to its front. For the locomotion in curved pipe was designed approach which is based on inverse kinematic model including besides primary task also secondary tasks, namely kinematic singularities avoidance task, obstacle avoidance task and joint limit avoidance task. For final inverse kinematic model was used approach of weight matrices by which can be stated the priorities of particular tasks. Both case studies were tested by experimental snake robot in order to verify introduced methodology for locomotion in the straight and curved pipe.

Effect of Minimum Quantity Lubrication on Surface Roughness and Temperature in Milling of EN31 Steel for Die Making
Minimum Quantity Lubrication has enormous influence on the process parameters in machining. The main aim of the present work is to study the effects of spindle speed, depth of cut, tool material, amount of coolant disp...
Optimization of Process Parameters for FSW of Al-Mg-Mn-Sc-Zr Alloy Using CCD And RSM
Al-Mg-Mn-Sc-Zr alloy plates of 5mm thick were welded successfully using Friction stir welding (FSW). Three-factor five-level central composite design was adopted for experimentation. Response surface methodology (RSM)...
Effect of Dry Friction on Bifurcation Diagram of Furuta Pendulum
Traditionally, the Furuta pendulum was used for testing advanced control strategies on a simple nonlinear and underactuated structure. In this paper, we investigate analytically and experimentally the dynamical descrip...
Influence of Bypass on Thermo-Hydraulics of VVER 440 Fuel Assembly
The paper deals with CFD modelling and simulation of coolant flow within the nuclear reactor VVER 440 fuel assembly. The influence of coolant flow in bypass on the temperature distribution at the outlet of the fuel ass...
Effect of Additives on Static Settled Concentration, pH and Viscosity of Bottom Ash-Water Suspension
In the present work, static settled concentration, pH and viscosity of bottom ash is studied with addition of additive. Sodium sulfate is used as an additive with proportion of 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6% (by weight). The solid...
