SOCIAL MANIPULATION: TECHNIQUES OF INFLUENCE

Abstract
This research focuses on the differentiation of psychological, social and linguistic manipulative techniques. A special attention is drawn to the disclosure and distinction of social manipulative techniques due to the social mechanism of the individual’s consciousness manipulation. The universals of implementation, integration and transmission which constitute the social construct at individual’s consciousness manipulation are discovered; the dual nature of construct universals as of elements and processes is underlined. Social mechanism of the individual’s consciousness manipulation is viewed as universal and consequently the one which exists regardless of both historical and subject and object relationships. The notion of automatic reacting on usual informative trigger from the point of view of its effectiveness and efficiency of saving time, energy and mental efforts is characterized. Areas where social manipulations have turned into one of the main means of behavior regulation, i. e. manipulations in business, manipulations in community, manipulations in family, manipulations in upbringing, manipulations in mass media, manipulations in social life (politics) are considered. Within the social influence techniques the methods of Reciprocation, Commitment and Consistency, Social Proof, Liking, Authority, Scarcity, Instant Influence and Jujutsu are analyzed.
