SPECIFICITY OF LEXICAL AND SEMANTIC GROUPS OF CHOCONIMS IN UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of the selection of lexical and semantic groups of choconims in Ukrainian language. The relevance of this theme is the lack of appropriate scientific research of the choconims in the lexical-semantic aspect, despite the fact that the relevant studios will make a significant contribution to the development of domestic onomastics. The object of work were Ukrainian-language choconims, and the subject – their lexical and semantic systematization. The material of research was the choconims, selected by a continuous sampling of price lists of Ukrainian supermarkets, such as «ATB», «Velmart», «Metro», «Silpo». To obtain the reliable data we used the following methods: general scientific (descriptive, analysis, synthesis, generalization) and special (content analysis and method of vocabulary definitions). The result of the work was the isolation of five lexical and semantic groups of choconims, which are characterized by high frequency (more than 10 cases of use). Formation of lexical and semantic groups is carried out according to the genetic principle. We determined that they are formed from poetonyms, anthroponyms, zoonyms, phytonyms, chrononyms, astronomys and cosmonyms. A short description of their representatives is also provided. In the conclusions of the article we pointed out the dynamic lexical and semantic groups of the choconims of Ukrainian language.
