SPECIFICS OF RECONSTRUCTION OF KOREAN SYMBOLIC IMAGERY IN TRANSLATIONS OF ANNA AKHMATOVA

Abstract
Anna Akhmatova masterfully translated the almost unknown to the Russian reader classical Korean poetry. She retained an extremely important for her traditional symbolism associated with Chinese mythology and history. The mountains in it are a symbol of eternity, water, clouds – a symbol of the variability and irreversibility of time, plants, birds – the brevity of the life. But Akhmatova could also bring the exotic text closer to the perception of the Russian reader. She used an important for her method – incomplete clarity (principleof the «secrecy»).
