SPECTROMETRIC CONTROL OF THE CONTENT OF RADIONUCLIDES 137Cs AND 90Sr IN SEA PRODUCTS AND AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS: METROLOGICAL ASPECT OF TESTING OF NOT CONCENTRATED FOOD PRODUCTES

Abstract

The task of testing fishery, agriculture and food industry products for the presence of radionuclides (RN) 137Cs and 90Sr is considered. The components of the test procedure are analyzed: measurements of the activity of the RN in the product and assessment of its safeness for consumption. Determining of the safeness is an urgent problem due to the presence and accumulation of RN in the objects of natural ecosystems and the possibility of entering the RN into the diet. The purpose of the work is to determine the measurement conditions in which the criterion of safe content of 137Cs and 90Sr in products is fulfilled. The method of achieving the goal is to establish a connection between the metrological characteristics of the spectrometer, the coefficient of correction of the measurement error, the permissi-ble level (PL) of the RN in the products, as well as the technological parameters: time of measurement of the activity of 137Cs and 90Sr and the mass of the of the sample, being analyzed. In this paper, a case of control is considered when the activity of RN 137Cs and 90Sr in products is less than the minimum measured specific activity (MMSA) of the spectrometer, respectively, MMSAC and MMSAS. The relation-ship between the results of spectrometric measurement of components of the safe content of RN 137Cs and 90Sr and technological parameters was first investigated. The results of system analysis for setting parameters of measurement in unconcentrated samples of production are presented. It was made the analysis of the problem of determining the maximum values of the parameters mC and mS, which are combining MMSAC, MMSAS and PL RN 137Cs and 90Sr for the criterion of safe content of RN. An analytical solution and calculation of the dependence of maximal values of mS as a function of mC values are presented. The values of mS for an important practical case when the reliability of the control Pk = 0,95 is given, and the correction factor for the absolute measurement error Z (Pk, P) = 1,21 are presented. Розраховано значення узгоджених з ДР величин узМВПАCs і узМВПАSr та час вимірювання РН 90Sr, при якому результати вимірювання активності РН мають метрологічне обґрунтування. are measured with the PL, are calculated, in which A ratio has been established for calculating the optimal time for measuring the activity of the RN. On the basis of numerical calculations, variants of measurements in which the activity of RN 137Cs and 90Sr is determined by one beta or two (gamma-and-beta) spectrometers of type СЕГ-01-ХХ and СЕБ-01-150 are analyzed. The values of the VMMSAC and VMMSAS agreed with PL, and the measurement time for 90Sr, has been calculated for cases when the results of the measurement of the activity of the RN are metrologically substantiated. These values are presented for different geometry of measurements of the beta spectrometer and two combinations of PL. For different types of products, the possibilities and advantages of control are evaluated for the combine use of the results of gamma and beta spectrometry. The systematic approach applied to the task of controlling the presence of RN 137Cs and 90Sr in seafood, agricultural and food product samples allows us to choose a measurement scheme. In this way, in practice, cost of the
