STATE AID FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE: A START-UP NATION PROGRAM ANALYSIS
Journal Title: MANAGERIAL CHALLENGES OF THE CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY - Year 2018, Vol 11, Issue 2
Abstract
This paper treats the subject of State Air from a theoretical point of view to a practical one. Why have I chosen this subject? Beside the opportunity and curiosity for applying with a project for a state aid, state aids and subsidies represent a significant amount of public funds. Despite the downward trend in the amount of state aids and subsidies granted by governments, they still represent a significant share of the world economy. Furthermore, globalization intensifies competition between countries, especially for foreign investment and this could result in a harsher fight for obtaining state aid. Taking this into consideration it is vital to develop tools in order to help governments and competition authorities differentiate between efficient and inefficient state aid measures and limit the wasteful granting of subsidies. For the practical part, I have applied for a state aid and in the second part of the paper I will thoroughly present the steps taken and my conclusion regarding it.
