STEM-TECHNOLOGIES AS A FORM OF FORMATION OF INFORMATIONAL AND DIGITAL COMPETENCY OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

Abstract

The article deals with the concept of STEM-education, its key properties and varieties. The main advantages and fundamental diff erences of this type of education are formed in comparison with traditional methods in the context of the development of society and information and communication technologies. It is shown that it is physics that can become a springboard for the qualitative introduction of STEM-education. The content of the concept of information and digital competence, the acquisition of which is one of the qualitative results of the introduction of STEM-education into the educational process in physics, is analysed. Based on the researches of the scientists, the main criteria for the formation of the teacher’s informational and digital competency are determined and indicated on the relevant aspects of its acquisition by its students, which include, in particular, the use of digital technologies for the presentation of theoretical material, the introduction of cloud services, mobile devices, robotics equipment, virtual laboratories, specialized software and hardware for a physical experiment.
