Abstract
Artykuł zawiera empiryczną analizę relacji pomiędzy strukturalnymi cechami koncepcji siebie a poczuciem tożsamości osobistej. W badaniu z udziałem 505 osób wykorzystano Kwestionariusz Spostrzegania Społecznego, Skalę Niespójności Ja, Skalę Klarowności Ja, Kwestionariusz Złożoności Ja oraz Wielowymiarowy Kwestionariusz Tożsamości. Analiza otrzymanych w badaniu rezultatów pokazała, że związki pomiędzy formalnymi charakterystykami koncepcji Ja a wyróżnionymi wymiarami tożsamości osobistej nie mają systematycznego charakteru. Zasadnym wydaje się zatem przyjąć, iż przedmiotowo ujęta koncepcja siebie i poczucie własnej tożsamości reprezentują odmienne konstrukty teoretyczne i dwie realności psychologiczne. Ponadto, w artykule podjęto pewne zaniedbywane problemy dotyczące operacjonalizacji formalnych aspektów Ja, poddając w wątpliwość trafność wykorzystywanych dotychczas wskaźników złożoności i spójności Ja.THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STRUCTURAL ASPECTS OF SELF-CONCEPT AND PERSONAL IDENTITY. FACTS AND ARTIFACTS IN THE MEASUREMENT OF SELF-CONCEPT COMPLEXITY AND COHERENCEThis article presents empirical analysis of the relations between the structure of the self-concept and the personal identity. The sample consisted of 505 participants who completed Questionnaire of Social Perception, Self-Incoherence Scale, Self-Concept Clarity Scale, Self-Complexity Questionnaire, and Multidimensional Identity Questionnaire. Analyses of the data presented showed rather weak links between the measures of self-concept structure and the structural characteristics of personal identity. It is hereby suggested that the self-concept and personal identity represents different theoretical constructs, and two psychological realities. Additionally, some neglected issues involving measures of self-concept structure were addressed in the paper, as some of the obtained results raised questions about the validity of self-complexity and self-coherence indexes
