Studies in stability constant of Pr(III), Nd(III) and Sm(III) metal ions complexes with some substituted isoxazoline in 70% ethanol-water medium pH-metrically
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Research in Pharmacy and Biotechnology - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
The interaction of Pr(III), Nd(III), and Sm(III) metal ion with ligands, L1:3-(2-Hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)isoxazoline, L2:3-(2-Hydroxy-3-chloro-5-methylphenyl)-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)isoxazoline, L3:3-(2-Hydroxy-3-bromo-5-methylphenyl)-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)isoxazoline have been studied at 0.1M ionic strength pH-Metrically in 70% ethanol-water mixture by Bjerrum method as adopted by Calvin Wilson. The data obtained were used to estimate & compare the value of proton-ligand stability constant (pK) and metal-ligand stability constant (log K) using half integral & point wise calculation method. It is observed that metal ions form 1:1 complexes with L1, L2, & L3.
