Study of newly synthesized pyridine-pyrimidine-oxadiazole comprising molecules as antimicrobial agent
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Research in Pharmacy and Biotechnology - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 3
Abstract
Substituted pyrimidine based 1,3,4-oxadiazoles were taken as lead moieties and merged it with heterocycles like pyridine and 1,3,4-thiadiazole to obtained more effective derivatives named N-(5-(6- methyl-2-oxo-4-(substitutedphenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidin-5-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)-2-((5-(2- (phenylthio)pyridin-3-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)amino)acetamide 1a-m. Synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, NMR, Mass spectra and Elemental analysis, as well as their assessment for antimicrobial activities against different microbial species like S. aureusandS, pyogenes (Gram-positive bacteria), E. coli and P. aeruginosa (Gram-negative bacteria) and C. albicans, A.nigerand A. clavatus (fungi) using serial broth dilution method.
