Suitability Assessment of Two Types of Heat Exchangers for High Temperature, Naturally Circulating Helium Cooling Loop
Journal Title: Strojnicky casopis - Journal of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2019, Vol 69, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper presents a comparison of the process properties of two types of the heat exchangers designed for the heat removal from a high temperature helium cooling loop with steady natural circulation of helium. The first considered heat exchanger is a shell and tube heat exchanger with U-tubes and the other one is a helical coil heat exchanger. Using the thermal and hydrodynamic process calculations, the thermal performance of the two alternative heat exchangers are determined, as well as the pressure drops of flowing fluids in their workspaces. The calculations have been done for several defined operating conditions of two considered types of heat exchangers. The operating conditions of heat exchangers correspond to the certain helium flow rates.

Snake Robot Locomotion Patterns for Straight and Curved Pipe
In the paper the locomotion of snake robot is introduced considering locomotion in straight and curved pipe. For the straight pipe locomotion was designed traveling wave locomotion pattern with sine-like wave which exp...
Press-Fit Evaluation and Study of Displacement in Temperature Changes
The article is devoted to bearing analysis, which has a specific shape. The outer ring is the body directly and the inner ring is the case. To determine optimal radial clearance or overlap are used the thermal / struct...
Vehicle Speed Determination in Case of Road Accident by Software Method and Comparing of Results with the Mathematical Model
The paper addresses the problem to vehicle speed calculation at road accidents. To determine the speed are used the PC Crash software and Virtual Crash. With both methods are analysed concrete cases of road accidents....
Investigation of Frictional Stick-Slick Effect in Disk Brake NVH
Paper describes the mechanism of vibration of a minimal automotive disc brake model which can lead to unwanted effects known as brake Noise Vibrations and Harshness (NVH). Stick-slip frictional effects are mathematical...
ANALYSIS OF PIEZOELECTRIC SEMICONDUCTING SOLIDS BY MESHLESS METHOD
In this paper, a meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method is proposed to calculate mechanical and electrical responses of three-dimensional piezoelectric semiconductors under static load. The analyzed solid is disc...
