Survey of performance and loss level of Shiraz steam power station Boilers energy

Abstract

Boilers are equipment that use widely for producing steam in power stations and chemical industry. According to the cost of steam production and its economic value, their optimization and performance survey has particular importance. In this article, we examine the factors that affect the efficiency of boilers and provide different ways to compute it; meanwhile Shiraz power station boiler performance investigated. The results of existent boilers efficiency computation of computer programs represent about one and a half percent error in related computation in two direct and indirect ways. Based on computation, energy loss of one of Shiraz power station boilers is including 1.24 percent of body and 18/66 percent of flue. In addition, the methods of energy consumption reduction and thrift level are resulting from each method is in terms of petroleum barrel. Calculations show that by using the mentioned methods and increasing of boiler's efficiency to 89 percent, about 225 thousand of petroleum barrels will economize in Shiraz power station boilers energy consumption annually. This equivalent level is appropriating about 8 percent of Shiraz power station's whole energy loss in respect of day technology.
