Tajemnicze krętki Borrelia burgdorferi

Abstract

Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato genospecies spirochetes are long, spiral Gram-negative bacteria that infects a wide variety of mammals, birds and reptiles. Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto – Borrelia burgdorferi, Borrelia afzelii and Borrelia garini are most importanat an agents of Lyme disease in humans. Borrelia species including Borrelia bavariensis and Borrelia spielmanii can also cause infection and disease in humans. The bacteria are transmitted between by ticks of the genus Ixodes ricinus and infections are an important global public health concern. New bacteria genospecies are still discovered and the list remains open. ............................... Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato są długimi, spiralnymi Gram-ujemnymi krętkami, powodującymi infekcje u ssaków, ptaków i gadów. Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto – Borrelia burgdorferi, Borrelia afzelii i Borrelia garini są najważniejszymi czynnikami bakteryjnymi, wywołującymi „chorobę z Lymy” u człowieka. Bakterie te są przenoszone przez kleszcze z rodzaju Ixodes ricinus a infekcje stanowią poważny problem zdrowia publicznego. Nowe genogatunki bakterii są ciagle odkrywane i lista ich pozostaje nadal otwarta.
