TEACHING MUSIC-THEORETICAL DISCIPLINES IN HIGHER SCHOOL: TRADITIONS AND NEWS

Abstract

In the article the specificity of teaching of musical-theoretical disciplines in the higher school is considered. It is noted that in today's conditions it is necessary to revise the previously established norms. Traditions are defined, which consist in preserving the array of knowledge that the student must learn. The need to innovate is included in the inclusion of methodological material from contemporary pop music, as well as from the works of academic composers, contributing both to the "intonational vocabulary" of time and to the extension of knowledge of the latest techniques of composition and notation techniques. The need to use information and computer technologies in the teaching of music and theoretical disciplines, in the control of knowledge and in the preparation of independent work of students, is emphasized.
