Teenagers in the borderspace: value orientations and life plans

Abstract
Certain results of international sociologic research Youth at the Border of Central and Eastern Europe held during 2015 among school-leaver of the borderlands of Ukraine, Poland and Hungary. A comparative analysis of value orientations and life plans of youth in these countries has been performed. Attention is concentrated on the attitude of Ukrainian, Polish and Hungarian schoolchildren to education as a terminal and instrumental value. The authors analyze the factors determining the education boom in contemporary Ukraine. They reveal the general and diverse in axio-discources and life claims of senior pupils on Ukrainian-Polish and Ukrainian-Hungarian borderlands. Conclusions are formulated concerning a certain value unity and simultaneously difference in value orientations and life plans of teenagers, risks and prospects of their self-realization in conditions of borderlands.
