ТЕОРЕТИКО-МЕТОДОЛОГІЧНІ ПІДХОДИ ЩОДО ВИЗНАЧЕННЯ СУТНОСТІ «СТРАТЕГІЧНИЙ ПОТЕНЦІАЛ» В ЕКОНОМІЧНІЙ ЛІТЕРАТУРІ

Abstract
S.A. Nesterenko. Theoretical and methodological approaches to defining the essence of "strategic potential" in the economic literature. The approaches to the definition of the essence of "potential" are systematized in the article. It is elucidated that in the basis of the essence of potential must be laid the targeted orientation of the enterprises and potential; quantitative and qualitative characteristics; components of technical and technological, organizational and economic, biological, social and psychological and managerial character and the mechanisms of their maintenance. Keeping to this opinion, the organization's potential should be considered through the ability of the organization and its managerial system (as an open socio-economic system) to form a preventive balanced set of possibilities (competitive advantages) for satisfying the needs of the consumers and carrying out the entities’ obligations taking into account their interests in accordance with the selected market segments, ensuring sustainable strategic development of the economic entities, their competitiveness, and ability in advance to adapt to changes in the external environment. The level of the enterprise’s strategic potential is determined by the potential possibilities of the enterprise, namely the endowment with its own resources and with the resources of the environment; by the balance of strategic potential and its adaptability to the chosen strategies of the enterprise development; by the ability of the enterprise management to form a preventive system of strategic development of the economic structure and its potential. The strategic and dynamic development of socio and economic system will depend upon the formation level of the latter mentioned ability, its mobility, and organizational flexibility. Thus, strategic potential is a potential which was formed in accordance with the enterprise’s goals. Such potential is determined by the potential abilities of the enterprise, namely, the endowment with the enterprise own resources and with the resources of the environment, the enterprise balance and its adaptation to the selected strategies of the enterprise development.
