THE ACCENTUATION OF PERSONAL VERBS IN POETRY OF I. FRANKO (IN COLLECTION «WITHERED LEAVES»)

Abstract

Stress plays an important role in a system of rhythmic melody and in poetic ways of Ukrainian poetry. The study of its behavior and its features in poetic speech is the least studied in modern Ukrainian accentology. This determines the scientific relevance of the proposed exploration. The purpose of the article is: to find out the features of emphasizing of personal verbs in poetry of I. Franko (in collection «Withered Leaves»). First the emphasizing of verbs in the Slavic languages began to study the founder of Ukrainian accentology O. Potebnya. In Ukrainian language this problem was examined by V.Rysanivskiy. He established some certain patterns in emphasizing of verb stems. V. Vynnytskiy continued studding the accentuation of this class of words in a modern and partly in a dialect levels. V. Rusanivskiy gave the historical commentary of emphasizing of verbs. During the analysis of factual material we found that: the most of the analyzed personal verbs have the same type of accentuation as in the modern Ukrainian language. There were only a few cases in which lexemes have another stress than in the modern Ukrainian language. For example: vіdnajde’, projde’, propa’de, sto’yu, chi’nyu. The difference in its emphasis associated with rhyme and rhythmic organization of poetry. So, the topic needs the further studying of explore integrated system of emphasizing verbs in the Ukrainian language. It allows us to conclude that the formation of accentual norms of the Ukrainian language was completed before the ending of this collection. At the time, the emphasizing of verbs on the material of the Slavic languages began to study the pioneer of Ukrainian Accentology O. Potebnya; this issue was investigated by V. Rusanivskiy on the material of the Ukrainian language by setting certain patterns in the emphasizing of verbal stems,; V. Vynnytskyi continued to study the accentuations of this class of words in the modern and partly dialectical levels; V. Sklyarenko gave a historical comment on the emphasizing of verbs.
