THE ACTUALITY OF FORMING MULTICULTURAL COMPETENCE IN THE CONTEXT OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Abstract
The content of the multicultural education and its main goals and functions are analyzed and reflected in the article. The topicality of the modern specialist’s multicultural competence as the most important element of the youth’s professional education is also examined and considered in the article. Professional competence is an integral formation of the person. Multicultural competence is one of its components. After all, the modern specialists must understand that they have both national values and planetary mentality. It is a new view of the world and its problems, possible solutions, the struggle for human survival, environment protection, the way to peace and cooperation, rejection of old stereotypes and norms. The introduction of multicultural education in the training process will enable students to live in intercultural society. Formation of multicultural competence of students will support their general and professional culture; will provide an opportunity to get knowledge and skills which help to interact with people of different cultural groups; help to develop personal qualities and values.
