THE ADVANTAGES OF THE APPLICATION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES FOR IMPROVEMENT IN STUDENTS’ ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCE

Abstract
The article reviews different advantages of the application of certain information and communications technologies in order to form and improve students’ English language competence. The author investigates the potential opportunities for the use of electronic e-mail, podcasts, educational and information sites of the Internet, online tests, and Internet projects in the educational process. Information and communications technologies have become the necessity and an integral part of today’s computer assisted language learning, which expects, on the one hand, the teachers’ training to use computer technologies, and on the other hand, the disposition of students to work independently.
