The Database of Standard Lithuanian Lexicon is not an Electronic Version of the Dictionary of Standard Lithuanian

Abstract
The idea to set up the Database of Standard Lithuanian Lexicon was launched after having rejected the idea to set up an electronic version of the Dictionary of Standard Lithuanian meant for the wider public as well as research purposes. The Database started with devising an original structure for it; as a result, the Database is related to the Dictionary exclusively through its core data. However, the Database is often treated as an electronic version of the Dictionary. In fact, they would have to differ in the structure of the data, the scope of information and its presentation, the scope and complexity of search, modes and possibilities of presenting the results of the search, approaches to the presentation of individual lexicographic units etc. There is also a suggestion made to modify the title of the Database.
