The effect of Silymarinee supplementation consumption on plasma VEGF and PDGF in untrained male students

Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 5, Issue 12

Abstract

Silymarinee used so far mostly as hepato protectants were shown to have other interesting activities as e.g., anticancer and cancer protective. VEGF and PDGF plays a key role in the processes of angiogenesis and vascular and axial play in most tissues. Aim of This study the effects of six weeks of Silybum marianum extract (silymarine) consumption on VEGF and PDGF levels is untrain male students.Sixteen untrained male students were randomly divided into Experimental and control groups. Experimental subjects who consumed six weeks silymarinee supplements.Blood samples from the subjects before and after the test was performed. Data were analyzed using paired t test. Significantly different (p?./.5) was accepted. Results of research show that in silymarine group decrease , weight, Fat mass and body mass index(p?./.5) .consumption of Six weeks silymarine supplementation have significantly decreased in levels of VEGF and PDGF(p?./.5). Results of this study shows that silymarinee be reduceing TNF-? and inhibit inflammatory processes. VEGF is the most critical molecular player for angiogenesis .
