THE EFFECTS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MEDIA AND POLITICS ON PUBLIC OPINION: THE CASE OF TRNC

Abstract
Media, due to its functions and status, is a primarily effective communication tool in the development of democratic regime sand democratic consciousness. From this aspect, media, have been intertwined with public opinion, politics and political institutions from the outset; have an important position in the transfer of public policy and political orientations to the public.The influence of the media today has reached significant proportions in human and social life.Now, the media is in every aspect of life as an informative and directive force. Of course, one of the major responsibilities of the media is the principle of neutrality.This study is based on examining the effects of the relations between media and politics on public opinion. For the purpose of this study, 162 people randomly selected to do research on the relations between media and politics in the Northern Cyprus, Nicosia and Famagusta region.
