THE EVALUATION METHODS OF SURFACE LAYER ENERGY CONDITIONS

Abstract
The issue of the evaluation of surface layer energy conditions was presented in this article. A large majority of presented methods do not find application in modern tribology but mechanisms of their activity predispose them in such utilisation. The classification of these methods was accomplished in three groups: evaluation of energy accumulated on the surface, evaluation of energy accumulated in the surface layer, and intermediate evaluation. Among methods, three proposals are presenyed: method of free surface energy determination, a method makes of use the Pinkiewicz apparatus, and a method of Auger electron spectroscopy. Results of research on the evaluation of energy conditions of surface layer after cold working was submitted for these methods.<br/><br/>
