The formation of state monopoly of book market of soviet Ukraine (1920 – 1930)

Abstract
The article deals with the process of formation of state monopoly of book market of Soviet Ukraine in 1920 – 1930. According to the New Economic Policy, publishing houses were able to perform their own trading operations and tried to create their own trade network in the beginning of the 1920s. But in the end of the 1920s State publishing house of Ukraine and publishing house «Knygospilka» had become one of the main distributors of book production in Ukraine. And the main distributor was the co-operation which sold book production even in the regions with state book trade. In the beginning of the 1930s Central Union of Consumer Associations of Ukraine (Ukoopspilka) and «Ukrknygotsentr» spread books throughout Ukraine. In the middle of the 1930s co-operation was uni¿ ed with the state book trading organization, which had its own network in all cities in USSR, and after this incorporation new book market organization «Ukrknygculttorg» was created.
