THE INFLUENCE OF STRUCTURAL FUNDS ON THE LEVEL OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE PODLASIE PROVINCE

Abstract
Unemployment is perceived as one of the most important social dilemma and is often neglected by the current authorities. The Polish government not only does not do anything, but also simply deepens it by, e.g. increasing the labour costs, what is transferred on the particular regions in Poland. Therefore, high level of unemployment is the main problem described in this article which aims at verifying the research hypothesis that the condition to decrease the level of unemployment in Podlasie Province is to increase possibilities of obtaining structural funds by the unemployed as well as by companies due to which there would be a chance to create new jobs. Having as the criterion the division of structural funds based on the types of the operational programmes for the years 2007-2013, which are implemented in the Podlasie Province and which may be realized in 2014-2020, we could distinguish The Operational Programme Human Capital, which in 2014-2020 may be implemented under the name Knowledge Education Development and the Regional Operational Programme of the Podlasie Province.
