THE LATIN LANGUAGE IN THE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY – THE LANGUAGE OR TERMINOLOGY?

Abstract
Introduction. The discipline "Latin language" in agrarian higher educational institutions has characteristic features compared with the discipline of the same name in the institutes of humanitarian profile. It is primarily a source of scientific terminology and a basis for professional languages, a means of formation the professional competency of the specialist-agrarian, therefore, in connection with the new requirements by discipline, program and training material is subject to revision and correction. Methods. Comparative analysis of scientific and educational literature, the clarification of the conceptual apparatus, comparative, observational (monitoring) methods. Results. The specifics of the discipline "Latin language" in the agricultural higher educational institutions, the optimum volume and specific aspects of training for specialties "Agronomy" and "Veterinary medicine" is outlined. Discussion. The process of modern scientific creation of terms requires in-depth study of the Latin language by the future veterinarians and agronomists in the context of the structural elements of terminological systems.
