The meaning of organizational structure in the process of improving of food safety management system according to PN-EN ISO 22000:2006 standard

Abstract

One element of food safety management system, determining its effectiveness, is the organizational structure. The first part of the article was dedicated to describing definitions of organizational structure presented in the bibliography on the subject, to the elements creating the structure and to the responsibility of the management in the sphere of creating the managing and executive organizational structure. In this part of the work the meaning of organizational structure for the effective functioning of the organization and the accomplishment of the planned aims have also been described. In the next part there has been performed the analysis of PN- EN ISO 22000:2006 standard requirements concerning the organizational structure in the food safety management system. There have been discussed the requirements of the standard concerning the responsibility of the management and of the food safety team leader (the executive organizational structure), and also the responsibility of food safety team and the personnel (the executive organizational structure). Next, the meaning of the organizational structure in the process of improving the of food safety management system has been discussed and the possibilities of its improvement have been described.
