THE METHODICAL APPROACHES TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONTROL OF STUDENTS' KNOWLEDGE DURING THE STUDYING OF SPECIAL DISCIPLINES

Abstract

Introduction. The main requirement to higher education in modern conditions is its orientation towards the development of the personality, capable to solve creatively general-industrial and socio-economic problems in their interconnection. The solution of the tasks as for the training of specialists who meet the current requirements, directly depends on the content and organization of the educational process, as the professional development of the personality is accomplished in its course. A means of determining the quantitative and qualitative parameters of teaching technology is monitoring as one of the integral components of the process of diagnosing students educational achievements. The study of the role of control in the students' learning motivation, the development of their cognitive autonomy, personality self-control acquires great importance in the conditions of shifting the emphasis on self-mastery of knowledge of great importance. The control of the students training nowadays is inadequate to the requirements of modern specialists training . The main drawback is obvious: control does not fulfill completely such basic functions as educational, diagnostical, stimulating, etc. The existing practice of academic achievements evaluating averages students, sometimes transforms learning into pursuit based on estimates, is essentially governed by chance. Developing the method of students educational achievements control is one of the relevant problems. Methods. The general value of these methods is in providing in the best way timely and comprehensive feedback between students and teachers, which is the basis for discovering how students perceive and master the studied information. The purpose of the control determines the choice of methods, while it should be taken into account that they can be applied in all types of control. It must be remembered that only their complex use gives opportunity to identify the dynamics of the formation of a system of knowledge and skills regularly and objectively. Each method of control has its advantages and disadvantages, the scope of usage, none of them can be the only one able to diagnose all aspects of the learning process. Results. As a result of conducting non-traditional forms of knowledge and skills control, the individual characteristics of students are revealed, the level of quality of training increases, and this allows to eliminate timely the shortcomings and gaps in students' knowledge. Perspectives The prospect of further research is the development of new forms of electronic control of knowledge in all disciplines, as they facilitate the work of the teacher and are better at student knowledge assessment and are relevant in the European system.
