THE PLACE AND ROLE OF FARMS IN THE FIELD OF AGRARIAN PRODUCTION

Abstract
Introduction. Farming is often the basis of the life and activities of not only the farmer but his whole family, which creates a single living environment and defines the purpose and interests of all family members. It is in this context that the role of farms is in the development of the agrarian sector of the country's economy. Accordingly, the task of studying the activities of farms, their social and economic features in the current conditions in Ukraine appears. Methods. Commonly used methods of research are applied in the writing of the article: monographic method, methods of scientific knowledge, logical generalization, as well as methods of statistical processing of information. Results. The need for further development of farming in Ukraine is substantiated in the article. It is noted that farms have certain advantages that distinguish them favorably from other entrepreneurial structures in the field of agrarian production. The classification of farms is considered. Their special functions, which they are called to carry out for the further development of agriculture, are defined, namely: to create a competitive environment for large agricultural enterprises, to provide employment of the rural population, etc. Discussion. Farming should be considered not only as a form of organization of labor, but as a lifestyle farmer, which includes not only his professional activities, but also based on the most complete use of the specifics of rural life, the unity of production and cultural spheres of life.
