THE POEM «PROROK» («PROPHET») BY A. PUSHKIN AND POEMS BY M. VINGRANOVSKY: INHERITANCE OF IDEAS AND VERSIFICATION TRADITIONS

Abstract
Poet’s choice of some meter is actually one of the most interesting problems of verse studies. Modern scholars confirm historical relation between meter and sense of a poem. All meters, being used by predecessors, collect variety of meaningful associations called «the semantic aura of meter». Its studying provides analysis of a huge number of poems which have the identical meter and system of clauses / rhymes. Nevertheless, some texts written by one poet have correspondence between meter and poetic themes even without identical strophic peculiarities. It allows considering individual vision of poetic forms, artistic search within poetic tradition. Several poems written with iambic tetrameter by a poet Mykola Vingranovsky reveal relations between formal characteristics and poetic themes. The young Ukrainian poet continues Alexander Pushkin’s tradition with his own poem «Пророк». In the poems «Пророк» and later works «В кукурудзинні з-за лиману…», «Вночі, середночі хтось тихо…», «Я думав – сам іду. Дорога» common asso-ciations such as civil courage of a poet, mystic spiritual experience, and common motif of a road are found. The inheritor of classic poetry Mykola Vingranovsky uses polysyndeton widely to depict poetic universe and strong connection between all its elements.
