A MARK OF THE OTHER AND COLONIAL DIFFUSE

Abstract
The article deals with the field of postcolonial text as a field of knowledge of civilization. This inter-colonial text generates not only an increase in the information field of civilization, but orders, expands and transforms the knowledge of the colonial territories. The combination and final merging of fact and representation generates the phenomenon of possession-detachment, which leads to the transformation of the literary text and illuminates the history of the power of the metropolis over the colonized territory. The object of the study is the novel Imperium by the German writer Christian Kracht. Notwithstanding enough popularity, Kracht's novel has not yet become the subject of close scrutiny in the aspect of comparing the book with the colonial texts of ‘Jahrhundertwende’. Thus, with the help of the interrelationships of the modern text and the works of the authors of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the colonial constructs of the past are linked with the critical picture of the consciousness of the present. The aim of the work is to show the interrelations between the discourses of research and literature of the late 19th – early 20th centuries and the beginning of the 21st century.
