THE PROBLEM OF IDENTIFYING AND DISTINGUISHING IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONSIN THE TEXT

Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the specificity of identifying and distinguishing idiomatic expressions in the text. Considerable attention is paid to the rules and difficulties of the translation of phraseological units, as well as to the condi- tions for the process of idioms distinguishing. The problem of polysemy and homonymy of idioms is separately examined. The article defines the essence of the translation process. In addition, the approaches of various scholars according to identifying and distinguishing phraseological units in the text are analyzed.
