THE QUESTION OF DISCOURSE WORDS DETERMINING

Abstract
Studying discursive words is one of the most popular areas at discourse analysis and lexicography. The article deals with the determining of discursive words in the text and its complexity. The functions that can perform discursive words in the text (which may be organization of expression, the transition from one topic to another, expressing macrostructure of the text, marking individual point of view etc.). Due to heterogeneity of discursive words, one can not confidently select them in the text nor by the grammatical principles nor by the syntactic characteristics. In terms of morphology, these words are also difficult to combine into one class. Because words, having the same characteristics, can be or not be discursive ones. Therefore, we believe that the semantic-pragmatic characteristics are crucial in the determining the discursive words. In our opinion, most accurately discursive words can be determining according to their functions. And since no text without discursive words, and scientific texts are no exception – discursive words accompany every thought, every statement of the author, we believe that studying such words is a promising area of research, especially for the Ukrainian language.
