Abstract
The article explores the role of religious factor in Indonesia’s foreign policy at the multilateral level. The author examines the conceptual foundations, practical aspects and problems of conducting Jakarta’s niche diplomacy in the context of religious situation in the country and strengthening its status on the international arena. Special attention is paid to Indonesia’s activity in Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Alliance of Civilizations as well as its regional initiatives.
