THE RESETTLEMENT POLICY OF THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE

Abstract
The scientific article considers such issues as ethno-confessional consequences of the resettlement policy of the Rus- sian Empire in Northern Azerbaijan. Given the concrete results of its colonial policies in its manifestations as Russifi- cation and the attempt to Christianization of the country; purposeful arrangement of Germans and Russians, Kurds and Armenians. At the initial stage of resettlement policy of Russia considered appropriate to equip in Northern Azerbaijan, the Ger- mans and the Armenian Genocide. But while the empire pursued their own economic, religious and cultural purposes, where an important objective was the Christianization of the country. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries Russia has continued to Russification Northern Azerbaijan.As a result of this policy, the strength of the Russian almost constantly increased. Thus, the Russian colonization of Northern Azerbaijan consisted of several phases.Their common one more important detail:Stages were targeted and systematic character.The organizers came from a single goal - to colonize the christian- ize, russify found by force of arms,thealien gentile and ethnical country, gradually draining her of all parameters with the metropolis, despite the resistance and opposition of indigenous people. Thus, the historical realities of the early 19th century, the orderly settlement in Northern Azerbaijan of various ethnic groups, the establishment of the colonial regime have influenced the ethno-demographic structure of the country, and led to the historical and demographic changes in the country. The resettlement of Russians in Northern Azerbaijan, as well as Armenians, has imposed a noticeable imprint on the local demography. The Russians were new ethnicity in the ethno- demographic mosaic of the country's population and accounted for in the mid-19th century. The study of this topic in this article, has allowed, based on the facts show that the переселенческая politics has been part and parcel of the Russian colonial policy in the Caucasus, including in Northern Azerbaijan.
