LINGUISTIC AND SEMIOTIC OF CONCEPTION FORMATIONS (ON MATERIAL OF UKRAINIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES)

Abstract

This article deals with “concept” in cognitive linguistics. The modern processes of globalization, that influence on the important spheres of existence of man, are reflected: social, informative, communicative, cultural and others like that. It is marked that subjects of speech choose the English word consciously, ignoring Ukrainian, as knowledge of English is a requirement to the skilled specialist. We can assert that matter of speech and culture relationship is a point of issue of semi- ology and only semiology is considered to be “an important science”, that can produce principles of systematic approach analyzing language cultural conception as a process and the result of sense formation, to combine all efforts of linguists and culturalists. Semiotic category of sign can be the basis for combining cultural, anthropological and speech studying coorelated essence of speech and culture, linguistic codes as a signs of semiotic system (speech communication) create the image of the vital world of human being, due to the person we can see the world and try to rebuild it. At the same time, this image changes and rebuilds the person. Investigating modern cognitive linguistics we can understand the notion concept, as significant, which as a term is oftener used by researches, who regards the issues of linguistics representation of cognitions. This key notion is regarded in this article, which differ cognitive linguistics from others trends of semantic researching. We realize, that this notion has not single-valued definition the content of concept is considerably change in concepts of different scientific schools and separate scientists. It means that concept has ambivalent essence – mental and linguistic that gives a big space for explanation, but not all that is concerned with it, in practice it’s not essential for it. That is why cognitive linguistics inherited knowledge of all linguistics paradigms, that has been existing before it and together with philosophy and psychology develop existing problems relationships between speech and thinking, but regard it in such categories as knowledge, linguistic kinds of knowledge, linguistic way of knowledge representation, procedures of operating knowledge, mental structures. In the scientific literature the influence of globalization on the development of national cultures and speeches, separate appearing is reflected in this article, is realized differently and contrary views are expressed accordingly: from negative estimation of globalized processes to the acknowledge of its positive meaning for the language of each nation. We believe that time space of modern globalized development of processes is not enough for valid and checked conclusions as for their impact on the national linguistic systems, particularly terminology. From one point of view, mastering of English language provides mutual understanding in the world communication that is very important in the period of globalization. From another point of view, total using of English doesn’t only influence on the lexical syllable and word building of national languages, but sometimes can limit the sphere of its usage, causing the loss of some social functions.
