The role of Kazakhstan in the Eurasian economic union
Journal Title: Journal of Advanced Research in Social Sciences and Humanities - Year 2020, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
Aim: The research aims at analyzing the efforts of Kazakhstan for joining global organizations. Based on a multi-vector foreign policy, Kazakhstan is positioning itself as an active participant in many regional and global international organizations, including the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). Method: As part of the study, a systematic literature review of the work related to Kazakhstan’s activities in the Eurasian Economic Union and its relations with other member states of the organization is carried out. Findings: The results reveal that Kazakhstan’s role in the formation and development of the EEU as one of the active participants in this formation is indisputable. Further prospects for implementing this initiative are large-scale and represent one of the country’s priority directions. Moreover, a considerable part of it has already been translated into reality. Implications/Novel Contribution: The article’s unique insight is that it addresses Kazakhstan’s foreign policy interests within the EEU, as well as the opportunities for Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to join this organization. On the current subject, there are only a few research studies available.
