The self-efficacy (genralized as well as context specific). The Big Five traits and the effectiveness of the enterpreneuship education

Journal Title: Studia Psychologiczne - Year 2014, Vol 52, Issue 4

Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of the cycle of entrepreneurship courses conducted based on the methodology proposed by Ostwerwalder and Pigneur and predictors of this effectiveness in the area of individual differences. The study assessed the sense of efficiency - both generalized and relating to the activities entrepreneurs - and personality traits in terms of the Big Five. The analyses were preceded by the review of the literature on the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education. This longitudinal study analyzed the data collected from 124 subjects. Most hypotheses were supported. Course participants differed in their personality tendencies from their peers, and the course proved to be effective by increasing both knowledge of entrepreneurship, motivation to run a business, and entrepreneurial sense of efficiency. This last measure, which we considered an important element of the human capital, proved to be the most important predictor of the individual measures of effectiveness of the course.
