The sources of financing of small and medium enterprises in Poland and the European Union

Abstract
The small and medium-sized enterprises play an important role in the national economy due to the fact that it produces a significant portion of GDP and gen-erates many jobs. Unfortunately, this sector is facing its development through many barriers, which is undoubtedly one of the most important is the lack of equity and the difficulty in obtaining funding from an external. The paper pre-sents the role and importance of small and medium-sized enterprises in the national economy and the possibility of financing the development of foreign capital enterprises by selected institutions of the Polish banking sector and other selected financial institutions.
