Abstract
The article analyzes the phenomenon of synonymic forms expressing the meaning of animate/inanimate as a reveal of semantic-grammatical asymmetry, the reasons for appearance of asymmetric forms expressing the semantics of animate/ inanimate are defined, the peculiarities of their functioning in the language are characterized.
