THE TEXTUALITY OF THE WORLD IN YULIYA STAKHIVSKA’S POETRY
Journal Title: Наукові праці. Серія "Філологія. Літературознавство" - Year 2016, Vol 271, Issue 259
Abstract
The article is focused on the poetic aspect of «Verde» poem collection by Yuliya Stakhivska. In particular, the concepts of vegetation, corporality, landscape, place, and memory in Stakhivska’s poetry are analyzed. The starting point and, accordingly, the beginning of the narrative deployment is the human body, which in Stakhivska’s poetry is seen not as an indivisible monolith of sensuality, but as a contexture of voices, a stratification of surfaces, and an architecture of visible and invisible. Vegetation can be interpreted as a universal principle of verbalization of being, which is performed through the connection of a place and a narrative. The place in her poetry is conceptualized not only as an ecosystem based on the interaction of the landscape and life, but also as the memory which contains fulfilled life stories in it. In Stakhivska’s poem collection all important tendencies of the XXI century Ukrainian poetry are embodied. Among them there are the ecological attitude to the polyphonic existence, the insertion of the Other in the conception of the world understanding, the blurring of the boundaries not only of the individual Self but also of the human in general and the structuring of the nature spontaneity with the help of culture matrixes.
